Mountain Select Stay to Play Policy

Most of the tournaments Mountain Select competes in have a Stay to Play policy. This means that a player’s accommodation must be booked at a preselected property and also through the required channel in order to maintain eligibility to compete. The reservation must be booked through the required channel and the player must stay on site at an authorized property for the duration of the tournament in order to be in compliance.

The financially responsible party of any player not in compliance (i.e. staying at a different property, staying in the correct property but booked with points or through an unauthorized third party - examples not exhaustive) will be required to pay a $500 penalty to Mountain Select in addition to any ‘buyout’ fee available through the tournament prior to any participation in the associated event. We have seen buyout fees range from $500 to $5000 per event and are not always available, they are tournament dependent. It is not advised that families plan to pay buyout fees.

Any collected penalty funds will be used to secure coach accommodation or other benefit for the team/program.

Families are encouraged to share accommodation when possible to save on accommodation.
